The following are tips to become a successful entrepreneur based on my experience of building a company “startups” from the ground up.
- Taking risks.
Life is too short to spend your time avoiding failure.
In order to succeed, you must be willing to fail – and you must have the courage to go for the win anyway – whatever it takes!
Always remember – WINNERS ARE LOSERS THAT JUST DIDN´T GIVE UP!
In the top 400 list of the worlds billionaires, proves that failing or taking risk is the fastest way to learn how to do it right next time…
- Make your own luck.
Luck plays a part in success, but the harder you work, the luckier you get.
Whatever you choose to do, even if it’s not the job of your dreams, always work hard at it. Be the first person at work in the morning and the last to leave at night. Hard work can create opportunities where your resumé cannot.
Surround yourself only with positive people – this will give you so much more power and the right people, will make you grow and learn faster.
- Be persistent.
Persistency really does pay off.
Be ready to give focus 110%, be ready to work 14-16 hours per day everyday, be ready to let holiday be strange word for you the next 2-3 years. Success come from consistent hard work and focus on that one project or business.
Later when you have made enough money, you can allow yourself to make business your hobby or a lifestyle, and this is a beautiful part, personally I love it. But be aware, to do more than one business at the time, demands huge experience. It took me over 15 years to succeed in juggling with more at the time.
Many people ask me: “what is your job?” my response would normally be “I invest in other peoples ideas”. That might be the shortest term of my description. People can have the best ideas, but if they don’t do the right marketing, have the right sales force, launch before it is to late or what else can get in the way of a million dollar idea, they end up having build the best idea, but never launch, or get beaten by competitors.
The following are the only 3 ways your business can become a success:
1. Be first
2. Be the vicest and smartest
3. Cheat
I have a huge respect for other people who made a success, but one success can be good luck or right timing, to make more than one requires perfect skills as entrepreneurship, persistency, planning/timing and most importantly an exit strategy and the perfect team to make the success the second time.
In my opinion after the second success you can call yourself a successful serial entrepreneur.

- Never stop learning.
The most powerful word in the English language is “Why.” There is nothing as powerful as an open, inquiring mind. Whatever field you choose for starting a business – be a lifelong student and make it a lifestyle.
The world is full of people who have stopped learning and who think they’ve got it all figured out. You have without a doubt met some of them already – and you’ll meet plenty more.
Their favorite word is “No.” They will give you a million reasons why something can’t be done or shouldn’t be done, and they always know better.
Don’t listen to them, don’t be deterred by them, and don’t become one of them. Not if you want to fulfill your potential – and not if you want to change the world for the better.
Only surround yourself with positives people – this will give you so much more power and it will make you grow and learn faster from the right people, this should properly have been rule number 1, this was for me what took the longest time to figure out.
When you are surrounding yourself with positive and vice people, you will learn from the best, not a teacher on a business school that thinks he can teach you how to run a business, but from people with real life experience and success.
Please ask your self, if the teacher did know how to do it perfect, what is he doing on a school, instead of getting rich and enjoying life. Teachers can teach you the basic stuff, the rest has to come from real experience in real business life.
- Give back.
You are ultimately responsible for your own success and failure, but you only succeed if you share the reward with others.
At the end of the day, ask yourself: “Am I making a difference in the lives of others?”
You don’t have to be wealthy to give back. You can give back by getting involved and giving your time and talents. You just have to be committed to opening doors for others.
What is it worth be rich or having success if you don´t have anybody to share it with…?
Remember money comes and goes, but good experiences and the things you have learned are there forever.
I hope you can use this advice, please do contact me if I can help you in anyway.
